April 25 , 2004 Regional Event #2

Overall, not a bad day.

I'm slowly catching Tommy. I was only .112 seconds behind him (.092 seconds behind his PAX time). Granted, his torque arm broke and he couldn't make his last run but still...one of these days....

The top six cars in my class were seperated by .58 seconds, 2nd through 6th were seperated by .096 seconds!!!!! That's close. That .112 second deficit behind Tommy meant 5th instead of 2nd.

I ended up PAX'ing 15th and had the 15th fastest time out of 204 drivers. 3 out of the top 4 PAX times came from E Stock, a Miata and two MR2's and 6 out of the top 10 were stock class cars. I think part of the reason has to do with how rough the course is. The stock cars are not nearly as stiff and they handle the bumps better.

The Kumho Ecsta V700's aren't bad but they don't have the grip of the V710's. But they're free so I won't complain! I've got to shift more. There were places where I should have downshifted and one other where I should have upshifted. Next time...
